Reality is broken. Game designers can fix it.

I don’t understand people who say, “Why does evil exist in the world? How can a God allow it?” If God didn’t allow evil, there would be no salvation. According to his own rule book, God’s plan cannot function without that lapse of justice. God allows evil, because it serves his purposes. It’s just politics.

Game writing will become a mature art-form when media becomes a free entity. Copyright and lack of free media rights are a hindrance to expression by disallowing ‘quotation’ of material from music, video, and other media, which, in creating worlds, form the accessory content of video games as much as sentences and words are the content of writing, and notes and melodies are of music composition. Until our mediumship can develop, and we can speak with multiple voices, there will be no great game-literature. The game world needs not just amateurs, those who create games out of love, but auteurs as well… individual authors, who have control of every aspect of their games.
