a world where people can’t control themselves

a virtual morality would ensue

pleading eyes of the world
of those who need to see a better world
come through the leader,

you put the least faith in failsafes
and the most in the worst case
and this is why
the system doesn’t need you

Our central theme then boils down to these questions: What is the nature of the foundational authorities that give legitimacy to science and to religion, and how are these authorities related to each other? Although the nature of each of these authorities is well known and has been studied in detail, surprisingly little effort has been made  to compare them.

On the scientific side, the foundational authority of the entire enterprise is the appeal to empirical facts. If this appeal is rejected as illusory, then science as a whole collapses. From this factual basis science proceeds by induction to form generalized empirical laws and ultimately to the genesis of explanatory theories. The second phase of the scientific enterprise consists in testing these laws and theories by use of the methods of verification and falsification. Here, again, empirical facts serve as the authority of last appeal for the acceptance or rejection of scientific laws and theories.

“They are more fired up than we are” says the move-on email, telling its recipients that “them”, among “our enemies”, those on the “right” just WANT IT MORE, and are more avid voters. And so, won’t you please pledge $20.

But this is typical, is their gist. Republicans, the Right Wing, Conservatives, are typically more active, they are telling you, and you need to GET IT IN GEAR.

But what is behind this? Is it more PASSION? Or is it simply, a firmness of footing?

Or, rather, a place of surer LEVERAGE… in the PHYSICAL meaning of the word. More pivot, more torque, more to push with, and against.

Because, mostly, when you have the power of the afterlife in your ‘corner’, you have the ability to lean back on this, and lift with the legs. If we’re doing God’s will… or rather, working without need for conscious thought, no higher brain function, or, even ratherer still, no need to contemplate our NON-actions, then we in our power have POSITION. And can push as hard as we want, because NOTHING WON’T GIVE.

On the other hand, what does dear old liberal have in his pockets? Our democrat friend, what do our hands linked together hold that red rovers can’t break apart? What is the point at which we make a line that won’t be crossed?

Of course, immortality. Or coursely, being against the real enemy. Our dear old nemesis, God, damn him. Our immortal enemy, the enslaver of Man. The one who put us here, he’s the asshole. You can hate the LORD of ALL and this will put us in our true place, as ubermensch, over-man… the man who takes his place AMONG the GODS. And damn the Ruler of all if he can’t take a joke. The measure of all things wants a recount. Get a job, Messiah.

The period of unclarity, of all kinds of tentative men who would conserve the old without letting go of the new.

The period of clarity: one understands that the old and the new are basically opposite, the old values born of declining and the new ones of ascending life—that all the old ideals are hostile to life (born of decadence and agents of decadence, even if in the magnificent Sunday clothes of morality). We understand the old and are far from strong enough for something new.

The period of the three great affects: contempt, pity, destruction.

The period of catastrophe: the advent of a doctrine that sifts men—driving the weak to decisions, and the strong as well—

So, you have a culture of repression, a well-nigh police state where the political-philosophical ideal is idealism, so the belief system reflected is that everything should be perfect but nothing is. So what happens? Damage control. You have everyone reacting to the fact that no one gets what they want. Politicians can only lie. People will die. The system, so called, is merely running around with fire extinguishers calling attention to anything that makes fires burn beautifully. Imagine if you will, believing that everyone around you is a cesium atom conspiring to decay a gas pellet which when exposed will poison you and expose the fact that it doesn’t matter if the box opens. This cat ain’t coming back.
